When I walk to the campus that is closer to me I pass a beautiful view of the Eiffel tower and a really cool modern building on the other side.

Outfits are feeling inspired this week so here is another. I think Black Swan has got me feeling the ballet look as well as the 90s. I am wearing dusty pink tights with a black suede skirt with a scalloped hem and a crop top shirt. Gold necklace wrapped as a bracelet and gold necklace as necklace.

I love this very simple color blocking going on with Celine Prefall and Martin Margiela pre-fall. Those are some DIY trends in the making. Buys two identical but different colored jackets or shirts and swap the bottom half of the sleeves. Pictures found on vogue.com.

Fashion Illustration

Here are a couple sketches done from a live model but turned into exaggerated fashion figures (taller, leaner proportions not meant to be realistic). She first wore an Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's look and then switched to a more dance inspired.

Tried my maxi skirt for the first time today! Wore it with leggings underneath to keep warm and ditched my regular camel coat for a cropped leather bomber jacket. Kept the colors neutral with the busy skirt and tied a large piece of lace into a headband with a knot at the top. Big fan of the skirt, nice and warm alternative to pants in cold winter.

Tuesday

After a late start to the day I was rushing to class and needed to print the images that I had collected related to DECADENCE for my Style Bureau class. I had the idea that decadence was all about lavish opulence and glamour and richness but found when I researched it I found synonyms such as decay, debauchery, corrupt, immoral, self-indulgent. I had a variety of good images but one stop away from the metro station of school I read this in my book.

"Jacques replied,'In this country (USA) decadence means trashy, pornographic, dirty. Cadent comes from the Latin cadere which means to fall. Decadent is something very different, it's the beautiful way to fall. It's a very slow movement which has lots of beauty, you know. it can be a kind of self killing in a beautiful tragic way.'

This portrayal of decadence solidified the direction I was moving in collecting images of glamorous fashion crowds and former IT girls or celebrities that all self-indulged a bit too much and this gave me more than just images to go off of.
Point of Story: A bad morning can turn right around if you all the sudden see that life naturally throws good things upon you. Like happening upon unlikely and uncanny homework help right when you need it.

Prada Sunglasses Campaign

While searching some blogs for homework I cam across these illustrations being used as adds for Prada via the blog http://trouvaillesdujour.blogspot.com called What's up! The illustrations are done by Ivo Bisignano, Marcela Gutierrez and Andrea Tarella. The " Minimal-Baroque" campaign was recently launched in Beijing. I really loved their stripes this season in bright colors.
